Global Business & Entrepreneurship Shark Tank Competition
On Wednesday, December 21st the STL CAPS global business and entrepreneurship instructor Justin Hildebrand set up the opportunity to have students compete in a Shark Tank competition judged by local business partners. STL CAPS welcomed Drew McLaughlin, financial advisory, and Emily George, registered client service associate, from The Wilkins Group a financial wealth management company with UBS Financial Serivces. Other judges included fashion designer Lia Glynias with LAUNCH and two staff members with another local CAPS that will launch next school year. The judges gave out three awards which included best pitch, best idea and most likely to get funded right now. See below for a description of each pitch and award recipients. In the STL CAPS global business and entrepreneurship strand students create their own business idea as well as perform client projects for local businesses.
Emily Comer, Affton High School – Project Meal

Brendan Prosser, Affton High School – Local Fund
- Local Fund is a one stop shop where investors can find local small businesses beyond the startup phase.
Kaia Johnson, Affton High School – Loco Coco (Most Likely to Get Funded Now)
- Loco Coco is a deodorant for men and women made from all natural ingredients so that you can feel good about smelling good.
Marissa Kukic, Bayless High School – Centy Air
- Centy Air is a product that attaches to air filters in your car or home so that they always smell fresh.
Ajla Rados, Azra Ramic and Silla Rasool, Affton High School – Face Agent (Best Pitch)
- Face Agent is a makeup remover made from all natural ingredients so that you can feel good about looking good.
Emily Rhodes and Merima Velic, Affton High School – ERA (Best Idea)
- ERA is a closet organization solution that allows customers to get what they need by simply uploading a picture.
