BV CAPS showcasing entrepreneurial action

CAPS Global Business has launched Enactus as part of the learning experience for 2nd semester students. Enactus is a community of student, academic and business leaders committed to using the power of entrepreneurial action to transform lives and shape a better more sustainable world. The CAPS program is affiliated with the university chapter of Johnson County Community College .

More than 25 CAPS students have partnered with the Tamale Kitchen to advance the organization’s mission. The Tamale Kitchen is a social enterprise established in 2015 by a former corporate trainer and a local business man who became its angel investor. The Tamale Kitchen is nonprofit organization and revenues are reinvested in the women and families who work there. The Tamale Kitchen was created to invoke images of faith, family, culture and values learned around the proverbial kitchen table and is the working definition of the gender dividend. Place money in the hands of women and they make different choices than men, focusing on faith, family and community. CAPS students are supporting this fledgling endeavor working on packaging, distribution, pricing and outreach.
